Area Business Community Unites for Georgetown Jingle Holiday Event Benefiting Georgetown University Hospital's Pediatric Oncology Programs
Read More »Did you know that each school day 43 children are diagnosed with cancer? Or that 43% of young adult survivors of childhood cancer have adverse health outcomes and 30% have adverse mental health outcomes? Or that approximately 1,400 children with cancer die each year (almost four children a day)? Join us in the fight against childhood cancer!
The Georgetown Jingle was created in 2006 by the Four Seasons Hotel and members of the Washington design community to raise critical revenue for the Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program at Georgetown University Hospital. Over the past six years, the Jingle has raised $1.5 million. This summer, construction will begin on the pediatric bone marrow transplant unit. This unit, in collaboration with Duke University Hospital and NIH, will ensure that families receive the care they need close to home. The suites included in these units were created by three designers with the goal of having unique rooms that would ensure the elements of this space were nurturing and part of the healing process.
Funds from the Jingle will continue to support the pediatric bone marrow transplant program, as well as the Childhood Cancer Surivorship Program and the pediatric palliative care program.
